I am wondering how you feel about all of this Sarah. Your job, the place where you work is promoting you and the other attractive women of tech tv in this playboy pictorial. Do you have fear of just becoming another sex object? Or do you feel that this is more of a woman empowerment thing? Just curious. I watch the show a lot and I like seeing your smiling face. That's the whole point, TechTV is cool with this because it'll bring in ratings, even if the end result is someone like Sarah losing a lot of geek credit by becoming another "centerfold bimbo". Sure, that kind of things can create new fans, but you break even once the loyal and longstanding ones go away. You're stuck with drooling horndogs who couldn't care less about whatever registry tweak she may be trying to present in a segment. Add to that the fact Cat and Morgan are on shows that have an audience that consists greatly of underage viewers. Laura Swisher is the only one who can come out a winner in this situation, and only because her show is in the same category as a Playboy photoshoot and geared towards the people likely to have subscriptions to the magazine/site. Also, check the "Wired for Sex" webpage on the TechTV site for a link to the poll. See? I think TechTV is taking advantage of their female talent because the dumb sh*ts in charge can't come up with a decent lineup of shows to earn ratings the right way.

that is rediculous and sad, well, somewhat. i must say that the women of tech tv are genuinely beautiful, i just wouldnt feel right watching "The Screen Savers" anymore knowing that you posed nude in a magazine (or the internet). sure the saying is "there is no such thing as bad publicity", but there is; your name being rubbed into the dirt for being a nude-ie model. sure, i may sound gay, but i would prefer to let the imagination do the talking; and to still have respect for you and the folks at Tech TV.

My understanding is that this is a marketing partnership between TTV and Playboy.com, so Playboy owns all of the pics and I'm sure that neither Sarah nor anyone else participating can post the pics without violating the contract between the two companies. The whole purpose of the deal is for Playboy.com to register a whole bunch of the TTV girls' fans and for TTV to get exposure to all the Playboy.com fans. I'm sure that once Playboy posts the pics they will be quickly scattered all around the net, though. From what Cat and Morgan and others have posted in the past, the pics will all be PG, so don't expect any kind of nudity whatsoever. The winner of the polls on the site are usually offered a small pictorial either in the mag or on the site, but I highly doubt anyone participating would do that. Jessica probably did not participate because she seems to be very religious, but the ironic thing is that she poses in a bra on her own site, jessicacorbin.com, and that pic might show more skin than you'll see in any of the playboy.com poll shots!

Jim, I fully agree with you about Cat, but her photoshop "accident" from before was from a personal photoshoot of hers and was not endorsed by TTV. With this being a corporate promotion, the pics will be tame. Cat herself was the one that said the Playboy.com pix were PG.

This is insane. All you people claiming you would lose respect are just a buncha f'n prudes. Since when does seeing someone naked mean you lose all respect for them?? People, sex is a wonderful thing, nudity is beautiful (or it can be, tastefull nudity like playboy, I'm not talking about porno movies here) and that's the problem, you people don't see the distinction. Art has had nudity in it forever. Damn, sarah's body is a work of art in itself. I say if she wants to get naked, great. If she doesn't, that's respectable too. I would be lying if I said I didn't want to see the lovely ladies of tech tv in the buff. All you other people, the guys at least, who say otherwise are just saying what you think she "wants" to hear, and trying to make yourself sound so mature and above the people that are like "go nudes!"

Hey I thought it was a very nice picture of you on that page. Nice pictures of all of the techtv girls. I can't believe people make such a big deal of nudity. The whole Janet Jackson thing was blown way out of proportion, and other shows and live tv events have done much worse. If you don't believe me, search for the today show flasher clip or dallas cowboys lockeroom clips online. Both were live but never got a hugh reaction.

Sarah, that's a very nice pic of you and i'm sure the rest of the pics are just as tasteful.

I dunno, some brews sound good about now. I've been doing this script breakdown for my production management class all day and truthfully I just needed a break and came here. yea, its wierd too, cause I love horror movies a lot. but the MPAA is on a huge kick, most horror movies have to be cut heavily to get an R rating even.. but saving private ryan is one of the grossest movies ever, and its R. The reason I read was that "war violence" is acceptable, but watching an evil puppet rip someone's head off is apparently not acceptable. But yea, violence seems accepted, and nudity treated as like its this huge taboo. I dun get it.

I love the tech t.v. crew, most all of them. I've been watching since it was ZDTV. I'm hooked on the the screen savers and xplay. I watch episodes over and over, reruns and all. People I know can barely sit there and watch it for five minutes without losing interest and getting up and leaving. I guess it appeals to a very certain kind of crowd. I've never seen them on other channels though. I saw erica hill on CNN after she left tech t.v. but today I was reading jessica had been on all kinds of stuff, and leo I know has been on regis a bunch but I've never seen any of it, or the comedy central thing, that would be cool.

well, try not to work yourself too hard. I'm pretty much done for tonight I think. Its not due till thursday I was just trying to get a head up on it. Sometimes college seems so over whelming, especially when working a job at the same time. But the way I see it, I'm ALMOST a telecommunications graduate, so close. And who knows, maybe one day if I can't have my dream of independent film maker than maybe at least one day I can work for a place like tech t.v. Thoughts like that keep me going when I feel the information overload. *shrugs*

Uhm, yeah. A night of R&R was just what I needed. :) I've been watching since it was ZDTV also. And I've seen Jessica all over the place (mainly on talk shows). Never seen Leo many places, but I know he's done radio. The whole crew really is something special. Telecommunications is a great field. My step uncle is in the field and does well above average. We're very similar. I would love to write screenplays if time would allow. I have a great story "Future Shock" dealing with a newly rebuilt World Trade Center and two prototype synthetic sentinels. Anyway, one can always hope and dream. Hopefully everything goes well. Having a job is one of the main reasons I haven't gone back to college. Well, time to get ready for work. Stay cool everyone!

I'm just going to ask one question, what kind of fans do you want? Do you want people to watch your show because of your looks or for the content of the shows? Your breasts or your wit? The company doesn't care. All they want is numbers. But they don't read your emails or go to appearances.

Sex does sell, but to a mass audience to which almost everyone panders. I found it wonderfully refreshing when I first started watching TechTV to see women who were allowed to be smart and attractive without pushing their boobs in front of the camera nonstop.

Consider the kind of response you want from your fans. Do you want more "Your hot" emails or a recommendation for a new band or a suggestion for a segment? I know you can't stop the flood of horny guys; no one can stop that rolling blob of dumbass. But you can choose not to encourage it and I hope you do not.
