She's Come Undone.

I've now had two friends tell me about the importance of the TV show "Paradise Hotel." I'm watching it right now and see no importance. What the hell is this show?

While I'm on a tear... the MTV Video Music Awards show isn't exactly good for much besides bad clothes and badder attitudes. This I know. But I'd like to know who, after watching Thursday night's festivities, thinks pop music is going in a good direction. Really. Who?

Ok, this entry won't be all about what's wrong in the world. Here are some things that make me happy (I bet at least a few make you happy too):

1. Peanut Butter 'n Chocolate ice cream from Baskin Robbins

2. The ocean

3. Rollercoasters

4. Kids that wave at me and smile when I wave back

5. P.T. Anderson movies

6. Figuring out why my HTML is messed up and fixing it

7. Napping in the sun

8. Hearing "I love you" from someone I love

9. Just-flossed teeth

10. US Weekly

Update: I've switched the channel from "Paradise Hotel" to a blaring test pattern and my headache's all gone!

PS- If you were ever an Eminem fan, please at least agree with me that beating up puppets is beyond unfunny.

I'd definitely agree with #6. There's nothing like coding something, finding out it doesn't work, trying to figure out what's wrong, and eventually fixing it.

Pop music is crap... plain and simple. But then again it is the music industry's attempt at exploiting the public. There are a few things that are constants in the universe (among other things):

You are going to die.People are stupid.

Everyone should do themself a favor and check out some good music. It doesn't necessarily have to be obscure, just something with some musical substance and imagination.

I don't listen to the radio or watch MTV alot so I didn't notice how bad music has gotten lately, but I too watched the MTV awards show and was thoroughly disappointed. I was expecting Johnny Cash to win atleast one award, but instead he was beat by some of the worst "musicians" ever. Then, there was the "punk" band Good Charlotte, from what all the "punk" people I know tell me they're not "punk", so how did they get to be so big? Finally, the one part of the show that dumbfounded me...Linkin Park won in the rock category, not only the but they beat the masters of rock themselves, Metallica, to win it.I know countless other rock bands that aren't only actually rock, but are ten times better than Linkin Park. All in all, it saddens me to think of the "music" the youth of today has to listen to.

P.S. I hate Eminem, he's got some skills but he's an overrated bitch. I think Triumph would beat his ass, although he's only a puppet. Eminem would be a challenge...for him to poop on!

You know pop music has hit the skids when you see Madonna doing the tongue tango with Britney Spears. If that's not an act of desperation, I don't know what is. Oh, I take that back. I just thought of another one: Doing a commercial for the Gap. Pop music sucks.

The MTV VMA's were what they were meant to be: A fun awards show. They are not the Grammy's by any means, but it seems to me that the entertainers have more fun when attending them. I disagree with the previous statement that says they are an embarrassment to the artists. As for pop music, I was never one to like it. But, it only becomes �Pop� when it's popular, so someone is buying it. Probably most of you on this talkback section have purchased a few of the artists cd's. And to the people who don't like Eminem, you may not like his attitude, but you have to give respect to the fact that his is an original, like other before him: Elvis, The Beetles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, N.W.A, Run DMC, Nirvana, Public Enemy, 2Pac, etc. They all pushed the limits and were disliked when they were popular, but are considered by most to be great musicians. They changed music as Eminem has, so you have give respect to him for that.

Paradise Hotel is a reality series based on individuals who get to stay at this luxurious hotel with all the amenities (sp?).. each week, they get to decide who get has to leave (person that doesn't get a roommate at the end of the week) and who get to stay (new invites).

Each week, a new pair of roommates are selected (some stay the same) ...

Anyways, this show is targetted for people who live on the drama that this show supposedly creates. It's nearly its season finale and no more guest are invited, but the old voted off guest return for two days revealing the secrets that they've seen while watching the show.

Like I said, it's for people who live on drama.

Don't get me started about MTV and their sorry excuse for an awards show. Anyone, who picks Justin Timberlake over Johnny Cash's powerful rendition of Hurt, has severe issues.

If there is anything I hate more than pop music nowadays, it's "reality" television - nothing is "real" when you KNOW there's a camera on you. Real "reality" television would be a show where ppl signed up to be on it, but wouldn't know they had been selected or taped. The big drama would be on the first night when people tuned in to see who "won" and then after that...they'd realize how mind-numbingly dull the show was, as opposed to how mind-numbingly dumb the genre is now.

Puppet-beating. Hmmm. Chris Rock said it best...there's always a reason to do something, but you just don't do it! You can find a reason to shove an old man down a flight of stairs, but that doesn't mean it should be done. Triumph rules!

Yay for Halley and Josh!

Other happy moment things: Getting a perfect score in solitaire, high school football, and watching the little relatives of your friends play in the Little League World Series (I'm a native of Boynton Beach, so for many personal reasons, seeing those kids get to the Championship was great!) Hearing a song that gives you a flashback, and checking your website stat logs to see where the visitors are coming from!

:) Yeah, Netscape's dirt. They used to be good innovators but screwed everything up. Anyway, I woke up hate and won't go into the problems of the world that I could debate for a lifetime. Instead, I'll state some of my golden nuggets of happiness. Hugs and kisses, comedies of life (now that's reality), getting out and active (the world is my playground), tasty new foods, and meaningful conversation.

Congrat's Halley and Josh! Wishing a long happy marriage. Good marriages give me hope of getting married myself.

There's no such thing as reality tv. Never has been.

I didn't even want to watch the MTV Music awards. To my opinion alot of the american pop has gone down the drain and fallen to a strip show! Our television is getting even worse on regular cable on NBC , FOX , and ABC ... It's all gone reality , and theres just so much you can take till you go insane! I wish they would stop showing Paradise Hotel and Who Wants to Marry My Dad.. anything to do with love and "real life" is a joke to me.. Cause to my opinion it's just rigged. MTV has turned into BET. For about a day after launch MTV2 looked hopefull for us good old fashioned whitey's, but now it's the same as the original. Spike Lee must have bought it or something. I agree with Ted. Sarah is a social goddess and gets better with time like a fine wine. Sarah, Kevin, and Dan should have their own show. There are definitely enough rerun spots to be filled.

MTV & MTV2 isn't what it used to be. I used to watch them religously. But now most of it is a waste of time. It's good there are PVR's to scan through the garbage. :) Ahhh, I love technology.

Oh my good gosh!!! I am in love! I just got my Nikon 5400 and it is the bomb digity. I am so happy with it and the only thing that I have been taking pictures of are of my dog Topper. They are turning out great. I'm very cautious with it though. I pick it up gently and do the same when I put it down. I keep it in a plastic bag to keep any dust off of it. It's my baby.
