Hi

I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving. I spent a quiet evening at home with my mom. There was an empty chair next to us, though I felt his presence. I ate extra stuffing, just for him.

Today was an important day, yes. Thank you for all the feedback I've gotten so far. I'm sure most of you understand how difficult the past two months have been in my personal life, and I only ask that you keep that in mind when inquiring about my professional life.

Oh, and I guess I just can't say this enough... I don't post in comments. Ever. So if you see a comment from me, it's fake. I'd like to keep comments open on my blog, but in order to do that, I need a little respect. By respect, I mean users not posing as me.

Thanks.

PS- I saw "Ocean's 12" tonight. Review coming soon.

Move TSS back so SF bay area!!!! That is the hub for tech stuff anyways. Not down in LA much to Hollywood! After all I thought that the show was about TECH not Hollywood Lord knows we have enough entertainment tonight’s out there Again MOVE TSS BACK TO THE BAY AREA!!!!! And dump the dumb non tech band wagon celebs that would not even considered work for such a show before it started to get the buzz and turned mainstream another good reason is Sarah would a lot be closer home.

In Short why fix what wasn’t broke?

Keep your chin up Sarah and remember the good times and he will live forever :-)

I watched the new TSS Monsay...well the opening part anyway and was not impressed as usual...where the heck is the live audience...the show seemed down without them...I miss the days of watching TSS when I actually learned something besides watching dark tips, gaming, or building rockets...Thse were the days of more calls, netcams, and more TECH!! I have read on many sites that people miss the TECHon TSS...The show seems to be too watered down for the true TSS fans that have watched since day one like I have. no mater who you have to host, it's the content that needs working on...need more tech..more PC tips..mac tips..more stuff for the gek in all of us...anywho that's my 2 cents

Dear Sarah,Hello, my name is Maury V. how are you doing today? This is my first time ever posting on a blog but I just want to tell you to just keep your head up and keep on doing what you're doing. I'm not one to tell experienced people how to do their job cause I'm just a rookie on camera myself (I work for pennyentertainment.com We film high school events and I broadcast them).Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that I respect you and I loved you guys since last year when I discovered TechTV. I guess since TSS is based on games, I probably won't get some serious help I need on my computer. If you can respond, my hard drive is on the fritz. It's been like this since my wireless router blew up on me. I'm willing to guess that my CPU downloaded Spyware while I downloaded some programs. Whenever I am working on my cpu, it just freezes. I defraged my hard drive every week, got rid of some programs, and re-installed Windows (losing EVERYTHING I had) and it's still screwing up on me. What can I download to get it out?I heard about what happened to your father. I am sorry that had to happen; I know what it feels like losing a loved one (the commonly used phrase, I'm sorry...). This year, I lost my best friend due to a hate crime. Because he was black, he was chased down by a group of rednecks. Your dad is in a much better place right now and I'm sure he wouldn't want you to feel sad forever. He's not with you physically, but there spiritually and watching over you and your mother. Heh, he's up there with the Almighty and some of the greats!Till next time, Sarah Lane, I hope to hear from you soon.Maury V.

Hello Sarah

Just wanted to say Great Job! and im sorry that there are so many stupid people out there that make unapproiate comments on a LADIES site. We appreciate all that you do for all your fans and hope you and kevin continue to be in our lives as our favorite TV personalitys and our source for all that is good in Tech as well as anything else you have to share with us

Thank-You for being you

Sarah, I started watching tss in 1998. It actually covered tech. I'm concerned that G4 is going to make TSS all about games. I do play games on xbox,ps2,gamecube but the reason I tuned into tss was for the tech stuff. I remember one episode where Kate Botello installed linux live on TSS; that was cool. Wouldn't see an episode like that now with G4 management.

Sarah, I liked your downloads of the day too. Are you going to do that again?

I could do a better job hosting than Kevin Pereira, I actually know tech. Kevin Mitnick,Wil Wheaton,Steve Wozniak did a better job hosting than Kevin Pereira. Is Kevin Rose going to do any more broken episodes. The broken is cool.

First post. Funny, I found your website after being a longtime TSS watcher, and your site and talk of a movie you'd seen was briefly mentioned on the show. Since then I've checked your site regularly to read your reviews because I find them to be spot on and very helpful. Also, they are thankfully devoid of the usual snark and unbridled ego that fills most reviews. That said, I am ANXIOUSLY awaiting your review of "Ocean's 12". I loved the original and am nervous that O12 will suffer the sequel curse and taint my love of O11 if I see it.

Regarding your loss: My condolences.

Regarding TSS Version 3.0: I miss Alex, but I wish everyone involved in the show the best of luck.

Hey guys I just wanted to pop on here because I havn't seen this mentioned. Apparently there is a save TSS petition going on. As much as I think that they are pointless, it certainly couldnt hurt. There's 1300 signatures already, so if you'd like to, take 2 mins of your time and sign it.

Come on, guys. Let's try and be constructive in our criticism here. I unfortunately (or maybe fortunately, for all I know) have missed the show this week, but I hope to catch it sometime soon.

While I'm here, though, I must say, I'm not sure where the line between free speech and what's basically cyber-vandalism is. You do realize she's paying for this place here, and although she seems to use it rarely, she does have the option of deleting comments and probably even banning IPs. The very existence of those options, whether she uses them or not, suggests that "free speech" is not a viable argument here. Certainly not in the case of some of the moronic comments in here.

Dude your dense and obviously don't read or comprehend very well. There is still hope for you yet, young grasshopper. Keep trying and you might, one day, get it.

Sarah,

It's cool that you have a blog and are willing and able to post to it. (Fame and fortune understandable takes the time away.) Your great on the show and I've spent some time on alot of the sites you've recommended. The new format is... well, interesting... Keep up the good work, and keep it on the real - yo. Wish you strength an endurance in your personal life.

-=Peace Out=--Rafael

How I Got Here: Left my job last month @ tigerdirect.com working as a content integrator and started my own small company which gave me time to watch the show (12pm EST) which eventually brought me to the TSS site and rerouted me to this site.

Rafael/NJCU, FYI, when I made that post Sarah did not have that last clarifying sentence in her post. She obviously agreed with my point.

Also, who do you think cares about how you got here and where you used to work? Set up your own blog for that.

Hey Sarah -- along with everyone else, just wanted to say thanks for hanging in there under such baleful circumstances. And if your scalp is hurting as much as I think it might be from the dye job, I have two words for you: cold milk. It's the only thing that takes the sting out of a bleach job. Just soak some cotton balls in it and dab or lean over the sink and just pour. You looked awesome the way you were, but I know your image probably isn't your own choice anymore. Try not to let LA and the meetings ad finitum get to you.

Long Time TechTV Viewer - First time poster here - Just read the last couple days posts so I can't ad anything new but- I visited the SF studio a couple months before it was over which strengthened my appreciation of having thisworldwide cable network in the Bay. The loction seemed to contribute to the personal feel the network had with its viewers- I mean I knew I could run into Kevin or Dan at the Frys or Martin (or any of the cast or crew) at the pub- I even had dreams about becoming the next Joey the Intern - but anyway it seems silly but it was mildly dramatic learning of the move to LA- this is where I become redundant - Having Kevin and you and Yoshi on TSS was a relief though I still couldn't hang with the G4 crowd - Alex had good chemistry with Kevin - I mean at least give him a minute- I can't understand why the lastest change - and Unscrewed cancelled? his show was so good he should get the old Craig Kilborn slot on whatever broadcast network that is- but I digress - I always enjoy your smiling enthusiasm and Kevins humorous tech-savvy (I loved the idea of painting your house with metallic paint to protect WAN leakage) - Too bad the network couldn't keep an intact TSS inplace of one of the numerous Robotwars slots- Thanks for your work and energy on TSS - Hope things come to something better but I must accept the end of my own secret geeky tech network from SF ...see you at the bar

Gawd, what an awful show.

I haven't watched the Screensavers for a long time, because it has gotten worse. Now it has hit rock bottom and is starting to dig.

When Leo left, the writing was on the wall. Patrick and Kevin held my interest for a while, but even then, they seemed like the B-squad.

Sarah was a good and natural replacement for the sexy Jessica and Morgan. She looks downright PIST in the new show, and she should be. Kevin doesn't look pist (I don't know if he could get upset) but he looks uncomfortable.

TSS now stands for This Show Sucks. Good luck in your next project, Sarah Lane.

One of the moderators (Pete_C) of the official TSS forum says that the Sarahcam is blocked because of "stalkers on the internet" who have been collecting and reposting frame grabs of her in certain poses (random poses that just happen to be "more appealing" than others, I'm assuming).

(Although Sarah does herself name http://wsw.textamerica.com as one of the "Moblogs I Like" in her moblog. That moblog is doing pretty much the same frame grabbing thing).

I saw the show for the first time today(Dec 1) since the new hosts started. I have to disagree with most of you. I liked the show. I personally thought Kevin and Kevin had a good on screen chemistry. I do miss Alex, Leo, Patrick, Dan, Yoshi and the rest of the cast from years past. I was a fan of both G4 and TechTV before they merged, so I like the mix of tech and games. Although I do think they could use some more tech shows. The funny thing, in my opinion, is that the best game related show is X-Play, which is actually a TechTV show. If you guys want to flame a host of a show, flame the dude from "Cheat". He seriosuly needs lay off the caffeine before the show. I'm just babbeling now. I'm sure things will smooth out though.

And lastly, I know you how you feel Sarah, I lost my father when I was 9 y/o. I'm 18 now. Just be glad you had him for the time you did. Try to look at the glass as half full. Ya know what I mean.

Man did G4 pull the trigger on the new hosts way too fast, yes the people who got fired deserved it. Chi Lan is not host material, she acts like she knows more than she really does. She is ok for small segments but nothing more. Kevin P. could be alright but he seems to need another co host and stay away from the full body shots of him cause he needs some time in the gym. Sorry but its tv so you gotta know and look decent. The guys behind Sarah are boring zombies, lame. They have to throttle back on the gaming crap, yeah yeah it's a game network but I want my geek stuff back computers, apps, electronics. I'm so so close to dumping the show but will give it a bit more time, so good luck.

Thank you Leo, Kate, Pat, Kevin, Sarah, Morgan, Dan, Yoshi, Alex and all previous TSS hosts for all the valuable information over the years.

G4 first got Rid of Leo first, then TSS web site was ruined, then Pat, now Alex, Yoshi, and Dan are gone. Kevin and Sarah now have minor roles. I have a feeling Kevin and Sarah will be casualties soon.

I got rid of all my DirecTV/TiVo season passes for TSS, Xplay, Fresh Gear and delete all of my previous saved shows.

Goodbye channel 354, I will never watch it again.

I will miss you.

P.S.Let DirecTV know that they should look for a G4TechTV replacement on channel 354. I did.

With tv show yea MTV I talking about you.G4tv fire Alex, yoshi, the foo and other people to put a jackass like Kevin P. Who does not care a sh*t about tech and who knows nothing about tech. What a joke this guy does not who Kevin Rose like firefox? Kevin P. think the IE is cool. Kevin P. works with people who know about tech and does not learned nothing form them.

Nothing personal but I cancelled G4 yesterday. The screen savers was the only show I couldn't get on Dish basic 60 and it's frankly not worth $14.00/mo, sorry. And, since DSL is now available in my area at 1/2 the price of cable internet, I cancelled ALL my Comcast services. In a sense, G4 butchering of the show is saving me $40/month all told. Thanks Comcast!

I actually prefer the new format. Sure it is a drastic change but since patrick left there wasn't much new information. Alex talked twenty words a second and never let Kevin speak. Now, Alex is whining on his website like a baby. If you lose your job, move on.... why drag out a bad situation. It just hurts everyone. Sarah and Kevin great job!!! I have watched the first two shows so far and it is great!!!

Well, I'm finally catching an episode of the new show. Can't say I care much for the new hosts, but I'll give them a chance. Given time, they could turn out to be decent after all.

Kevin Pereira is okay... he's kinda funny and decent as a host. Chi-Lan, though, really doesn't seem to be host material; much better suited for an auxiliary role, like maybe doing interviews or something. She was Cat's backup or something on CFH, right? Anyway, Alex was the same, not quite good enough to be a host, but would've been okay a sideshow kinda guy. No recommendations for new hosts that you haven't heard a million times, but I don't think Chi-Lan is the answer. Not yet, anyway. Again, hopefully she'll grow into it, as hopefully will KP.

One thing that definitely needs to happen is the reintroduction of an audience. That would help offset the reduced "hostishness" of these two. Something that I definitely like, though, is the resurrection of the news discussion. Certainly glad to see that back :)

Sarah, I just had to leave a quick note for you. I know how you felt at Thanksgiving. My father (Timothy F. O'Sullivan) was murdered on 9/11. Holidays are the hardest and don't listen to people who say "Time heals all wounds" or "You will get over it" That is all BS. What will happen is the memory of your father will find a place in your heart and become part of you. Even now I still look at a book in the store and say to myself "Wow I have to get this for Dad"

You will also find yourself crying at the weirdest times (as I am right now) but don't sweat it. If it gets too tough, just picture your father getting an earful of very old (but still funny) Irish jokes from my Dad.

I gave you my dad's whole name so you can check and see that I am not a waco. You and your family are in my prayers and I wish you and all your TTV friends past and present nothing but the best of luck. Feel free to email me for whatever reason.

Tim

Poor Sarah!

Life seems to have dealt you a real blow recently, hasn't it? Life can be very tough sometimes. However, it always seems that when life is ready to kick you in the teeth, there is always somebody ready to help. I have a great confidence in the human spirit...I have seen this happen over and over again.

What seems to be so crazy is that not only is there all of this stuff in your personal life, but also they have seen fit to mess with the TSS show on tv, too! Isn't that crap?

All I can say is that I loved the TV show when it was good. Since then, I have really become so busy (doing back to back overtime, in order to pay to live...!) that I tend to see most of your stuff online. I am an avid viewer of the stuff in the Comcast Fan and look at the whatsarahwore and sarahword stuff. Like you, I have an insatiable interest in computing and I love to find out about neat fixes. (And I have found many on your sites!)

Meantime, keep your chin up (as we British say!) things are bound to get better...

Steve :)
